Jane Kershaw

Who is Jane Kershaw?

I offer a warm, approachable service within a discreet, safe & comfortable environment enabling clients to explore their concerns, anxieties or worries at their own pace.
Each person has their own motivation for positive change and if allowed to explore that motivation in a safe, non judgmental environment, then positive change can occur. I trust my clients know themselves and their experiences better than I do.
Our relationship is founded on unconditional positive regard, empathy and genuineness. Clients use their time in their own way and at their own pace to examine those areas causing them concern.
My role is assisting clients in finding their own answers and solutions that are unique to them and their experience, to realize their own potentiality.

I have counselled in an organisation taking GP referrals. I work with Employees Assistance Programmes and private practice, offering both short and long term counselling over a broad range of issues and circumstances.

I have over  35 years experience of working in the care and support field. Working within the Probation Service and Public and Voluntary Sectors. I have been an advocate for adult survivors of institutional child sex abuse and formerly an Approved Foster Carer for Avon Social Services.
